With our latest update we add completely new features to our PrimaVR player, which have never been seen before in hologram videos:
1) Hologram video actors’ bodies now react to touch, whether you touch them with your own hands (Leap Motion) or VR controllers. You can push soft tissue, and a rapid hand motion creates a visually pleasant jiggle. You are also able to pause the video in your favorite spot, and the hologram bodies will keep reacting to your actions.
2) Touching the holograms gives you haptic feedback via VR controllers. Likewise, you will be able to feel when the hologram actors make contact with the controllers. Slapping or brushing quickly against the skin gives a stronger response, while holding the VR controller gently on the actor’s body will even allow you to feel her heartbeat.
Oculus Touch and other OpenVR-compatible VR controllers can be used to interact with the holograms if you have SteamVR installed. The haptic feedback is optimized for HTC Vive controllers, but it also works with Oculus Touch.
